Why do I need a coach?

A client of mine came to me because she was feeling really stuck. She’s an influencer and an introvert. Two characteristics which might seem, at first glance, to be contradicting.

She came to me specifically because she wanted to work on her confidence speaking on her stories. Her whole career is about showing up online at her best. And due to crippling self-confidence, she struggled to show up and speak.

She didn't have a problem taking photos and writing her thoughts on her stories. But showing her face, and speaking on her stories in front of her large audience was far too daunting.

You might think: ‘well so what? Why does she have to speak on stories if it makes her uncomfortable? Who cares?’

She’s built a large audience on Instagram without needing to speak on her stories, and her focus is fashion. So why bother? Why go so far as working with a coach?

Well, because, in her own words she has more to give.

Yes, there was insecurity and discomfort there. But she’s also incredibly ambitious and wants to use her platform to make a difference. But the mental blocks stopping her from showing up on her stories, were stopping her from being the person she knew she wanted to be. They were stopping her from making the impact with her platform that she wanted to make.

We worked together for some weeks.

The International Coaching Federation describes the process of coaching as:

“a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership.”

We all have goals, both personal and professional, that we want to achieve and challenges that we’re fighting to overcome. And sometimes that process can feel really hard, if not damn-near impossible when you’re trying to do it alone. But partnering with a coach can help to make that journey a little easier and even see you surpassing what you thought was possible for yourself.

Whether they’re a business coach, a mindset coach, a life coach or any other coach in between, this relationship can help you:

  • build trust in your own abilities

  • empower you to find the answers yourself

  • create accountability towards your goals

  • build self-awareness

  • developer a deeper understanding around a certain area of your life

  • overhaul unhelpful and unfulfilling habits that aren’t serving you.

The coaching relationship is designed to help you reach your fullest potential from a place of empowering you. It is not a teacher student relationship. It is one of mutual respect, working together towards a common goal: helping you become the best you can be.

The reason my client worked with me: increase confidence. Increase impact.

I help exhausted and burned out introverts create energetic freedom and the confidence to show up as themselves, in a world that demands extroversion.
